There's a time and a place for crêpe, but today is not it

Then I would like that very much. Good ol' American pancakes with a lot of syrup.

[phelos]

Got a place in mind? Otherwise, there's one on [ STREET ].

That sounds fine to me. That's on the list of places I want to try, actually. Not for the pancakes, they have some weird waffles, but those can wait for another time.

I'll be there with bells on.

[ ten minutes later, bobbi is there - jeans, a t-shirt, the same pair of combat boots she's been wearing when she got here. the moment she spots howard, she gives him a wave. ]

Hey.

(Is he too dressed up? he is probably too dressed up in his pressed pants and button up, all neat and proper for the most part. but hey, he's there, he's drinking coffee, there's a cup for her too. it's all good.)

Hey you. How are you doing? (He's going to pop up to pull her chair out for her now, nbd.)

[ is there such a thing as too dressed up? he looks good, so he's not overdressed. q.e.d. ]

Looking forward to some pancakes. [ she's already been on a run, so she figures she deserves to dig in.

when he pulls her chair for her, her expression turns into a grin. ] Ever the gentleman, mh?

(Yes. Maybe. Sometimes Eggsy says he's too overdressed and so he worries. Whether it's for himself or for young people these days is up for debate. (considering it's Eggsy, probably the latter.

Of course she does. Howard hasn't don't much by comparison on the front. He left his apartment and came here, so that's...not much at all. But he has been doing a mental workout. Does that count?

A shrug.) I was raised right.

[phelos]

[ in bobbi's experience, being over- or underdressed only matters when you don't wear it with confidence. it's like someone said to her: she could pull off yoga pants at a ball, if only by sheer force of will and confidence.

so he shouldn't worry and just wear what he likes; at least that's her view on it. ]

[ a waiter comes by a moment later, with coffee for both of them, and bobbi glances at howard briefly to see if he's ready to order, before giving her own order without having consulted the menu.

it's pancakes, you can't go wrong at all. ]

You're very welcome, Miss Morse.

(Because he's just going to amp that up a little right then and there. It's for show, after all. Partially at least. To toy and tease with her as he moves around to sit opposite of her, happily accepting the cup of coffee and taking a sip from it.

He doesn't need a menu, instead just opting to follow Bobbi's lead. She seems to have been here before, and they're both here for the pancakes, she probably knows best.)

Do they have weird syrups here? I tried a bacon infused one a few days ago that was borderline disturbing.

Of course they do.

[ bobbi throws him a grin. ] We can order you a selection, if you want? You could test-taste your way through a variety.

[ she's pretty sure they have things crazier than bacon infused syrup, really. ]

Dare I actually do that, though? That's the real question here. I've already been tricked into trying some terrible things, I'm not sure I trust anyone anymore when it comes to food.

(Coffee, is still safe mostly, so he can happily sip that.)

Why did anyone ever think that bubble tea should be a thing in existence, anyway?
