PLANS For most of the timeskip, Howard is going to be travelling to and fro across the lands, whether it be on foot or horseback, or through fairy rings while they still work. He is trying to get a greater understanding of the world, and how it works, including how magic works, how he can use it, and how he can use his shard.
He'll be attending a few of the events as well, and hopefully completing quests when possible. He wants to be helpful, after all.
He will also be partaking in a project with a group of Unseelie's that will be attempting to advance the technological state of the Drabwurld, likely with quite a few failures along the way.
He also wants to begin to rebuild the library of Caer Scima, through gathering information, both by talking to natives who will talk to him, and perhaps other, less kind methods.
.
SUMMARY OF KNOWN DETAILS A brief summary of what your character will have done/accomplished/experienced over the timeskip.
TIMELINE OF EVENTS
SPRING IN 2,701 (Mar, Apr, May) |
- MARCH -
⚛ Having headed to the Station at the tail end of February, most of the month of March will be spent there, trying to read up on magic, though also reading up on skills that he might need in this type of place - edible plants, trapping, clarifying and testing water etc. All things that may be of use, because who knows if there'll be another attack like this one, destroying further the "comforts" that are otherwise available, and sending them further back in time.
⚛ As the temperature drops, Howard will be doing his best to keep warm. (Anyone who tries to burn books etc however will have to answer to him, because that shit don't fly.)
⚛ Towards the end of the month he'll be putting everything together, and heading back towards the Spires via Mair, whether it be on horseback, foot, or fairy ring.

SPRING 2701
MARCH
mid-month.
HEADS UP!
[ because you're about to nearly get hit in the head with a baseball, which bounces off of some concrete and even further from the unseen batter. normal, right? normal.
actually not normal, because some monster dog thing, roughly the size of a... small golden retriever, is SPRINTING after that baseball, big bulbous eyes all excited. BASEBALL BASEBALL BASEBALL.
this alien is the best outfielder ever, for the record. ]
no subject
See, the problem with saying 'Heads Up' is that heads go up. Really it should be heads down so that people will duck, but alas, Howard looks up, and the ball goes a lot closer to him than he would have had he stayed down.
He was going to grab the ball before that...thing comes charging, and he recoils visibly.)
What the hell?
(8| is it going to eat him now?)
no subject
Akkin, buddy, where'd you go...?
no subject
What is that thing?
(He doesn't even glance at the person talking, still staring at it.)
Is it going to kill me?
no subject
[ doop doop doop, no big deal. junpei steps in between howard and the beastie, and says something in japanese to the space dog, who is apparently willing to comply. it drops the baseball and sits, panting happily. junpei scoops up the baseball, and tosses it from hand to hand for a second, and the varren follows the trajectory of the ball with its gross demon eyes. ]
no subject
(Are there people here who do that????
But okay no he's watching with fascination. And then also the ball, to be honest.)
Can I try throwing the ball to it?
Start of March
The station was mesmerising, he spent the first few hours just rushing back and forth, unable to sit down or stand still, there was just too much to take in.
But then there was an all too familiar figure sitting, and it made him come to a near crashing stop with the wall. Of course, he'd seen him on the network, but part of him was still convinced it was some sort of cruel joke. Seeing him in person. That was something else. If it was who he thought it was, of course.)
Steve?
no subject
Then he really got pulled into another world - literally - and Steve had to adjust to knights and magic next. And yeah, fairy rings. Maybe it wasn't quite the shock that it was for other people. He'd been through that "out of place, out of time" feeling before.
The Station helps him, something more familiar in a world that was getting more familiar by the day, a bridge between then two worlds. It's still not the 40's, but it'll do. But then he hears Howard's voice, sees his face. Now things feel a little more like home.]
I knew you'd find your way here sooner or later.
[Steve smiles and stands up.]
no subject
He'd dreamt of seeing him again, had nightmares of it, too, if he's honest. Steve represented so much not only for the American people, but for him personally, too. It almost made him nervous.
But he steeled that away, locking it in a box, and instead throwing out:)
Yeah, well, you can't really picture me being stuck somewhere without a single piece of technology, can you? I was just about ready to claw my moustache off.
(He laughs, crossing the floor to him.)
How're you doing, pal? It's been too long.
no subject
Steve closes his half of the distance between them, holding out his hand. But something in his eyes is warmer than a handshake.]
You have no idea. [In theory, maybe he does. Maybe he can tell in the way Steve shakes his hand just a little too long, the way his eyes go from feature to feature of Howard's face. Yes, even his mustache. He never thought he'd see him again outside of a picture. He also reminds Steve a lot of his son.] I'm good. You made it just in time, it's starting to get cold out there.
no subject
Howard looks at the hand, takes it to shake, but really, Steve? A handshake?)
I've heard some things. (From James. Which is why he's still holding his hand when he moves to put an arm around him. It's a quick hug, but it's still tight before he drops down to the balls of his feet again, and he laughs.) Nothing I haven't felt before. Russia's brutal this time of year.
no subject
[It's just the sort of thing Natasha would say. Steve returns the hug easily before leaning back.]
I'm glad you're here, for more reasons than one.
[Howard pretty much said it himself; he's good with technology. The Station could use that sort of help after the latest attack.]
no subject
(It's joking, though, which Steve should be able to tell by the way his eyes twinkle as he to the balls of his feet. He's fidgety, but then again, he always is.)
Do you have a job for me already? (His eyes narrow just the slightest.) Did you break something?
no subject
[Howard will understand that when he meets her for himself, if he hasn't already.]
It wasn't me. Not this time, anyway. [Let's be real, if Steve gets thrown at a wall, he's going through it.] This place got busted up pretty bad during the attack last month, and now there's this weather. Think you could rig up some sort of heating system?
no subject
(So far, Howard's met a surprisingly low amount of people, but then again, that's what getting knocked out for a good while gets you, what with being bedridden and all. But He will shrug, it's all good. He's with Steve now, he's happy.)
You said that a lot back then too, you know. (His eyes twinkle just a little extra right then.) It just happened with you nearby. (But. Then there's a real question for him to mull over, and he nods.) I could definitely try. I already have something in the works for dealing with what's happening outside, but there probably should be something in here, too. A rig for hot water and all, too.
no subject
That would help a lot of people here. [He's not even going to use the 'if' word. Howard's as smart as they come, and Steve would be hard-pressed to believe that there isn't anything that the man can do. He's half the reason he's here, after all.] Is there anything I can do to help?
[Steve's not an idiot when it comes to these sorts of things, he's just not a...well, a Stark.]
no subject
(though it makes him happy to have that offer. He'll certainly be taking him up on it, too.)
